What will Portland do with their 3rd draft pick?

While they had an 11.5% chance of picking up the first draft pick in the “lottery” and a theoretical 5th place, the Blazers ended up with the 3rd pick. It is a first victory for the club according to its GM, Joe Cronin.

“We always want the jackpot, but it can come in all shapes and sizes”, relativized the leader. “But climbing to third position is a great victory for our franchise. »

Deprived of the playoffs for the second consecutive season, the Blazers do not want to rebuild from floor to ceiling either. And we have already heard that an exchange of this upcoming 3rd draft pick is not completely ruled out, knowing that the Jusuf Nurkic, Jerami Grant or even Cam Reddish could also pack their bags depending on the options that will arise on some major players during the summer…

Brandon Miller, Scoot Henderson or… a trade?

In most Mock Drafts, Brandon Miller, the scoring winger from Alabama, appears as an interesting candidate for Portland who is not particularly supplied on position 3.

But, if Charlotte were to decide not to associate two leaders by skipping Scoot Henderson with the second choice, could the Blazers then be tempted by the talent of the explosive leader?

Joe Cronin remains evasive on the question, preferring to spare all his options: “We always dream of improving, we dream of what these players can bring with their qualities and what the future holds for them. The lottery, and the Draft that will follow, are motivating moments. For players, for teams, for fans. »
