What if the Raptors chose Sergio Scariolo…

What are the technicians who will be entitled to meet the leaders of the Raptors for a second time, in their quest for the successor to Nick Nurse. On Monday, the Toronto Star reported that Steve Nash made a strong impression during his interview, while Marc Stein slipped the name of Kings assistant Jordi Fernandez as an “underdog” for the job. That makes two names, and according to the Gazzetta dello Sportthe 3rd name would be Sergio Scariolo!

While Scariolo is on leave after the elimination of his formation, the Italian daily reports that a final meeting is planned between the two parties, and it is only at the end of this that we will know if the coach of Spain and Virtus Bologna is chosen to succeed Nick Nurse. The Italian boss is under contract until 2024, but Gazzetta reports that talks have intensified over a possible move to the NBA.

A former assistant to Nurse, Scariolo knows the Raptors very well, and most of the players in the squad. In Toronto, he was more particularly in charge of the offensive sector, and his departure to Bologna had left a big void in the staff.
