What if DeMar DeRozan didn't extend to the Bulls?

For many weeks, DeMar DeRozan said over and over again that Chicago was his home. And the Bulls had no reason to complain about the winger's performances, still as solid and consistent, even at 34 years old. From then on, a contract extension this summer seemed obvious.

But Arturas Karnisovas' latest speech suggests that the player's future is no longer necessarily written in Chicago. Especially a few days after the end of the Finals and the opening of the overtime window since nothing has still happened on the side of DeMar DeRozan and the Bulls…

“Like I said before, we’re going to watch everything. Everything is on the table. It's still an option.”, summarizes the vice-president of the Bullswhich clearly states that it is not a priority.

It's hard to know what the team will look like in one or two weeks.”

It is also rumored that the franchise would first like to deal with the Zach LaVine file, before finalizing the extension of the former Toronto and San Antonio player. Except that, here too, nothing is moving forward regarding the back, despite the many proposals sent here and there throughout the league.

Or perhaps with the arrivals of Josh Giddey then Matas Buzelis, just drafted, the desires and announcements of changes this spring will even affect DeMar DeRozan, who could aim for a more ambitious team.

“When I spoke for the last time about the season, I assured that we needed to make changes. And we started, recalls the leader. “While I can't speak to all the potential changes, it's hard to know what the team will look like in a week or two. I take my role, that of rebuilding this team, very seriously and the Draft was important for that. All the options are there. »
