Warriors plan to honor Kevin Durant on opening night

The NBA has left nothing to chance by scheduling two shocks that promise to be explosive to start its regular season on October 24 with a Nuggets – Lakers, revenge of the last playoffs, followed by the duel between Golden State and Phoenix, with Chris Paul against his former teammates.

The Suns will play for the first time with their new “Big Three” composed of Bradley Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, while the Curry-Thompson-Green trio will therefore have Chris Paul as reinforcements for this “Opening Night” of madness. It will also be Kevin Durant’s first time playing at Chase Center since leaving the Warriors in the summer of 2019!

To celebrate this, Golden State would consider taking the opportunity to pay tribute to Kevin Duranttwo-time NBA champion and two-time Finals MVP with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018.

This was suggested by new GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. “I think the combination of his comeback and our first match against a tough opponent should make the atmosphere pretty electric,” did he declare. “We have to find a way to honor Kevin Durant properly. He hasn’t played at Chase Center since leaving. I know it’s been a while, but every time great players like him, who have given so much to the franchise, come back, you have to find a way to honor them. We will do it appropriately”.
