Warriors – Kings: the Stephen Curry miracle!

But why didn’t the Kings foul? Everyone is still asking the question! With 22 seconds left to play, and they were trailing by one point (114-113), and the Warriors were not in the penalty, the Kings chose not to foul! They took Stephen Curry at two, and even at three in a corner, but without making a mistake. Finally, they will make two faults. But it’s too late. There is only one second left, and Curry scored his 46th and 47th points of the evening to give a three-point lead (116-113).

Time-out Sacramento. The last shot is for Kevin Huerter, 10 yards out. He fails but Klay Thompson has clearly shaken him up! The referees don’t whistle, and the Warriors win at home, to end their five-game losing streak. They can thank Stephen Curry, exceptional in the second half, to snatch the victory when the Kings led since the end of the first quarter…

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

– Steve Kerr changes five. Surprise on returning from the locker room since the Golden State coach had chosen to bet on the “small ball” and a hyper offensive five. The Warriors were led by 12 points (67-55), and to get by, they sacrificed Kevon Looney, and Kerr chose to replace him with Jordan Poole! Draymond Green regained his post of “pivot” and Andrew Wiggins played strong winger.

James Wiseman and JaMychal Green wax the bench. Kerr had warned he was going to take strong action, and it was interiors James Wiseman and JaMychal Green who remained glued to the end of the bench. Jonathan Kuminga came on quickly, but his stint coincided with the Kings’ best stint, when they took control late in the first quarter. As for Moses Moody, he waited until the second half to come on.

TOPS/FLOPS

Stephen Curry. 47 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists… What more can we say? His last quarter is exceptional. The Warriors trailed by 10 points when he came back into play. What followed was an offensive festival, and he did the total for the defenders with baskets with the board, 3-points in step-back, 3- points by falling on the buttocks… What an incredible leader!

Andrew Wiggins. We found the Wiggins of the last playoffs. Perhaps his best game of the season with aggression, defense and risk taking. It is he who supports Curry in the “money time” to reverse the course of the match.

Malik Monk. When you see him play like that, you think he would do the Lakers so much good… He’s the perfect sixth man for the Kings, and he’s not shy. In the “money time”, he responds tit-au-tac to Curry and this is no small feat.

Jordan Poole. A ghost… He no longer takes open shots and is content to be a relay in attack. Put in the five in the 2nd half, he brought nothing. A real crisis of confidence. Or maybe it’s more serious.
