Tony Parker had already spilled the beans and Le Parisien confirms that the NBA has indeed taken a double dose of Victor Wembanyama and Spurs, next year, with two “NBA Paris Games” in one week.
NBA Europe representatives were in Paris yesterday, for the EuroCup quarter-final between Paris Basket and Badalone, taking advantage of their visit to the French capital to finalize the agreement.
The two meetings should, however, take place at the Accor Arena in Bercy, which can accommodate up to 15,000 people in basketball configuration, the option of the Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, and its 30,000 seats, therefore seeming to be ruled out. However, this makes a double dose of NBA for French fans, possibly on Thursday and Saturday, with the possibility that it will (a little) lower the ticket prices…
San Antonio's opponent for these French meetings remains to be determined. We recall that L'Equipe had announced that Tyrese Haliburton's Pacers held the rope for this double Parisian confrontation.
For the Spurs and the team they will face, it will in any case make for a long Parisian getaway. Because if the matches take place on Thursday and Saturday, taking into account the plane journeys and the necessary recovery in relation to the time difference, we are potentially talking about a week outside the United States. In the heart of the regular season marathon, it's really not easy to organize. The “double billings” in Japan, in the 1990s, always took place at the very beginning of the season, precisely to avoid these difficulties.
