Victor Wembanyama with the Blues

After the failed meeting of the last Euro, we could quickly see Victor Wembanyama under the jersey of the French team. The Boulogne-Levallois pivot is part of the selection announced by Vincent Collet’s staff, and he could therefore be dressed against Lithuania and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the context of the 2023 World Cup qualifiers.

Twelve players are selected, including Andrew Albicy and Terrence Tarpey, silver medalists at the European Championship in September. Vincent Collet has also summoned two training partners. We note the absence of Nando de Colo, Guerschon Yabusele, Vincent Poirier or Moustapha Fall.

During this window, France will train for three days at the Palais des Sports in Nanterre before flying to Lithuania on Thursday 10 November. She will face at Panevezys, Friday November 11 at 7:30 p.m., the Lithuanians, first in the group (7v-1d). The Blues will join Pau the next day to face Bosnia-Herzegovina there, on Monday November 14 at 8:30 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast live on France 4 and BeIN Sport.

France is currently 2nd in Group K with 6 wins and 2 losses.
