The list of 78 participants in the next Draft Combine was communicated Tuesday evening, the opportunity to ensure that all the biggest prospects will be there for this first stage which takes place from May 15 to 21 in Chicago. It is now the wish of the NBA which will require, from 2024, that all players registered in the Draft participate in this gathering.
Apart from the players still in competition such as the French Nadir Hifi (Le Portel), Bilal Coulibaly and of course Victor Wembanyamawe thus find Scoot Henderson (Ignite), promised to be the second choice of the next Draft behind “Wemby”, but also Brandon Miller (Alabama), the brothers Amen and Ausar Thompson (Overtime Elite), Jarace Walker (Houston) or again Cam Whitmore (Villanova).
The lottery is scheduled for May 16
Two French have validated their place, it is Sidy Cissoko (Ignite) and Rayan Rupert, who ended his season with the New Zealand Breakers in the final of the NBL Playoffs. We also note the presence of Belgian hopeful Toumani Camara (Dayton), Senegalese Mouhamed Gueye (Washington State) and Malian Adama Sanogo, NCAA champion with Connecticut.
As a reminder, the traditional “lottery” which will determine the allocation of the 60 Draft choices will also take place in Chicago on May 16. It is at this time that we will discover the name of the team which will win the 1st choice for the Draft 2023 scheduled for June 22, and therefore which will welcome Victor Wembanyama next season.
