Victor Wembanyama “Player of the Week” for the first time

With an average of 36.0 points at 53% success rate including 48% at 3-points, 6.5 rebounds and 7.0 blocks, for two victories in two games, Victor Wembanyama was named “Player of the Week” for the Western Conference in the NBA.

This is a first in the career of “Wemby”, and it is also a first in the East since it is Cade Cunningham who was designated by the league, with his 27.0 points average at 49% success, 5.3 rebounds and 12.7 assists. Especially since the Pistons won two of their three outings over the period…

Victor Wembanyama was preferred to Dillon Brooks (Houston), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City), James Harden and Norman Powell (LA Clippers), LeBron James (LA Lakers) and Nikola Jokic (Denver).

In the East, Cade Cunningham was preferred to Jalen Brunson (New York), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia), Evan Mobley (Cleveland), Pascal Siakam (Indiana) and Jayson Tatum (Boston).
