Victor Oladipo only absent six months?

In just over four years, Victor Oladipo will be passed three times on the pool table. In January 2019 then May 2021 for a right quadriceps tendon injury. Then this week, after he ruptured the patellar tendon in his left knee in Game 3 against the Bucks.

One more ordeal for this battered player, who was hit by major injuries even as he became All-Star in Indiana, thus significantly hampering his career.

“I feel like I’ve had a ringside seat for the past three years, on the weekends, when no one was there, but he was in training, then working in the gym. bodybuilding”, says Erik Spoelstra at Sun Sentinel. “Generally, these were sessions of four or five hours of work. »

It’s obviously sad to say for Oladipo, but he is now used to these long months of rehabilitation, and Spoelstra too.

“I saw him go through this on a daily basis, showing greatness of soul”, underlines the coach of the Heat. “For the past two years, he has worked like crazy to be in top shape. When you can’t play, it’s really frustrating for a player. But he didn’t show it, he was always positive, with a smile on his face. »

According to The Athletic, optimism is also in order in Miami since the back could finally return to training in just six months. And so be back in the course of next season, which will start in October. In exactly six months.

But faced with a player with such a physical liability and while the operation has not yet been carried out, it will nevertheless be necessary to be cautious before predicting his return for the end of 2023.
