We feared the worst from the images, and alas, the MRI confirmed that Victor Oladipo was seriously injured in the 3rd round against the Bucks. The back of the Heatr suffers from a ruptured patellar tendon in his left knee, and the unfortunate Oladipo will again undergo an operation and miss several months of competition. The last player to suffer such an injury was Andre Roberson, and the former Thunder defenseman had taken more than two years to recover from it, never really resuming his career.
We write “unhappy” because the former All-Star has accumulated knee injuries since 2019, and he has only played 102 games in four years! Arrived two years ago at the Heat in an exchange, he had extended for two years in July 2022 and he has a “player option” for next season.
For Miami, it’s a second player less since Tyler Herro broke his hand in Game 1 of this same series against the Bucks. Operated on Friday, the former best sixth man in the NBA will miss six weeks of competition, and will only be able to return to the field in the event of a possible participation in the Finals.
