The Clippers player, who has played 50 games this season with the California franchise, was arrested by Los Angeles police in Hollywood overnight from Sunday to Monday for “carrying a firearm concealed in a vehicle”according to officer Tony Im, spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, whose remarks are reported by ESPN.
A sanction to come from the Clippers?
The vehicle he was in had been stopped around 2 a.m. for speeding. Police also happened to arrest another passenger in the vehicle for possession of cannabis. Amir Coffey was released on $10,000 bail. He is due to appear in court on August 24. His frankness could also think about a possible sanction.
“We are aware of a legal situation involving Amir Coffey and we are looking into it”the Clippers said in a statement yesterday.
