Unleashed, Jordan Clarkson spoils Kyrie Irving's comeback

Absent for 12 games, Kyrie Irving couldn't imagine a worse recovery since the Mavericks lost by 37 points (127-90) on the Jazz floor! An almost historic victory for the franchise since Jordan Clarkson signed the team's first triple-double since… 2008!

After a festival at the start of the match from Simone Fontecchio, it was the Clarkson-Kessler duo who created the first break at the end of the first quarter. The two substitutes are on an alley-oop, even if luckily, and Utah signs a 21-9 to take off (37-26). As for Kyrie Irving, after scoring the first basket of the game on a muscular drive, he disappeared from the radar…

With an unleashed Jordan Clarkson, the Jazz manages its lead of around ten points, and even allows itself to put on a show as on this pass behind the head of the same Clarkson for Kris Dunn's dunk (47-33). On the Dallas side, Luka Doncic takes advantage of Dante Exum's good shifts to strike from afar, and bring the Mavericks back into the match. But Utah has the margin, and it's Simone Fontecchio who sends everyone back to the locker room (62-55).

Jordan Clarkson puts on a show

At the restart, we learn that Dante Exum will not return, injured in the heel, but the Doncic-Lively duo has fun in defense, and Dallas gets even closer to the score (70-67). This had the effect of waking up Jazz, who responded with a 7-0. Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson put on a show with this new pass behind the head of the Jazz 6th man. Will Hardy's players finished the quarter with a 12-4 lead to escape again (93-79).

This time, Dallas will not come back, and the Jazz knock out Luka Doncic's teammates with a 16-0 to increase the gap to +26 (110-84)!

Still unleashed, Clarkson went for his first career triple-double, and Utah won 127-90. Like the Bulls in the East, the Jazz are slowly, but surely, returning to the qualifying places for the “play-in”.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

– A very rare triple-double. In history, the Jazz is the team that signs the fewest “triple-doubles”, and the last one dates back to 2008, and it was signed by Carlos Boozer. Sixteen years later, Jordan Clarkson compiled 20 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds coming off the bench. This is his first career triple-double and the first by a Jazz substitute since 1983!

– Real revenge. If the Jazz didn't take their foot off the accelerator, it's because Will Hardy's players had a 50-point defeat against these same Mavericks hanging in their throats.
