Two weeks of absence for Gordon Hayward

Already deprived of LaMelo Ball, not to mention Mark Williams and Frank Ntilikina, the Hornets will now have to compose two weeks for without Gordon Hayward.

Hit in the left calf Tuesday evening at the Clippers, the 33-year-old winger suffers from a strain and we will therefore not see him again before mid-January.

Enough to complicate the affairs of Charlotte, currently 13th in the East (7 wins – 22 losses) and on an ugly series of nine consecutive losses. The second longest in progress, behind that (record) of Detroit, obviously.

Starting on the Hornets' wing, Gordon Hayward has 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 32 minutes on average this season (47% shooting, 36% 3-pointers, 77% free throws). He arrives next summer at the end of his four-year, $120 million contract, signed in the summer of 2020 to leave the Celtics.
