While Jalen Johnson will indeed return to competition this Tuesday in Chicago, the Hawks see on the other hand De'Andre Hunter join the infirmary. The cause: this inflammation of the right knee which has been bothering him for two weeks and which will not require an operation, but which does however require a period of rest.
Consequently, the 26-year-old winger will be re-examined in two weeks and we will therefore not see him again on the courts before mid-January. Enough to probably keep Saddiq Bey in the fiveAtlanta despite the return of Jalen Johnson.
Starting on the wing for the Hawks, and incidentally mentioned in some transfer rumors, De'Andre Hunter averages 14.9 points and 4.1 rebounds this season, in 30 minutes of playing time. All at 46% shooting (including 40% on 3-pointers) and 91% on throws.
His name regularly appears in transfer rumors, and this injury could dampen potential teams interested in his services.
