Two places to take in the Kings’ five major

After 16 years without the playoffs, the Kings have decided to hand over the reins of the team to Mike Brown, former coach of the Cavaliers and the Lakers, but also Steve Kerr’s first assistant for several seasons.

Renowned for being above all a defensive coach, this disciple of Gregg Popovich is making his mark with his new formation, and he does not yet know what his starting five will be. In fact, there are two open positions, and the training camp and the preseason will allow to find out more.

I’m not even sure yet who the incumbents will be“, confirmed Mike Brown. ” We know, of course, that Fox will start for us. We know Domantas will start and HB (Harrison Barnes) will start. But we’re kind of in the dark with positions 2 and 4. Right now there are guys that have a good chance to start for us in those positions, but we’ll probably keep varying the combinations to see what that we can get. »

On position 2, it will be played between Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter. The first was revealed as a joker with the Hornets then the Lakers, and he evolved with De’Aaron Fox in Kentucky. The second has the advantage of being versatile in positions 2 and 3 and of having started at the Hawks since his arrival in the NBA.

For position 4, it is the rookie Keegan Murray who holds the rope after his beautiful Summer Leagues. Harrison Like Barnes, he is a versatile winger but he is strong, strong attacker and he reads the game well in defense. He could suffer against bigger wingers but his profile should allow Domantas Sabonis to do all the talking. The main alternative is Trey Lyles, a real fleeing 4 who passed through Utah, Denver, San Antonio and Detroit.
