Two new matches in Los Angeles postponed

Faced with the huge and deadly (at least eleven dead) fires that have been affecting Los Angeles for several days now, the NBA had already postponed the match between the Lakers and the Hornets on Thursday evening. She has just done it again for the two meetings scheduled in the city this Saturday evening.

This therefore concerns the Lakers – Spurs, played at the Crypto.com Arena, as well as the Clippers – Hornets, played in the Intuit Dome.

“The NBA and the Lakers and Clippers franchises have communicated with local authorities in Los Angeles and Inglewood about the situation in the region and the postponement of the games helps ensure that no resources are diverted from efforts to combat fires », explains the league in a press releaseadding that she donated a million dollars to associations to help disaster victims.

JJ Redick, who lost his house in these fires, hoped to play Saturday night against San Antonio. But we will have to wait a few days, or even weeks, before fitting these three matches into the demanding regular season schedule.

The next matches in Los Angeles are scheduled for Monday evening: the Lakers will play again against Victor Wembanyama's Spurs when the Heat will face their neighbor. And even two days later, on January 15, the two Californian franchises will still be at home.

“The health and safety of our community and fans remains our top priority”declared the Clippers, who hope to be able to return to the courts next week.
