Two new Bucks assistants

Like any coach who arrives in a new team, Adrian Griffin composes his staff, and after Terry Stotts as first assistant, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that he went to get two new experienced assistants. The first is Joe Prunty, and like Terry Stotts, he’s been through the Bucks before. He was even the coach!

At the Hawks for two years, Joe Prunty was assistant to Jason Kidd from 2015 to 2018 at the Bucks, and he took the reins of the team in 2018 for 37 games. With a record of 21 wins for 16 losses, he had managed to clinch a place in the playoffs, and his Bucks had lost in seven sets against the Celtics. He therefore knows Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton very well.

Trained 20 years ago at Spurs, Joe Prunty found himself this year in the same situation in Atlanta, since he had acted on the bench between the dismissal of Nate McMillan and the arrival of Quin Snyder.

Adrian Griffin’s other take is Patrick Mutombo, at the Suns last season alongside Monty Williams. Former coach of Raptors 905, where he coached Alex Antetokounmpo, he is a former assistant to Dwane Casey and Nick Nurse, and he worked with Adrian Griffin from 2018 to 2022.
