TV Programming: Tyrese Haliburton has been heard!

Tyrese Haliburton had repeatedly expressed his displeasure at seeing his team broadcast so little on national television. For three seasons, the Pacers had only been entitled to one game per year on a national channel, a record barely improved by Indiana's good run in the first NBA Cup. On the evening of the only game broadcast on TNT, at the end of January against Boston, their future opponent in the conference final, the Olympic gold medalist had thus added another layer.

“I’m happy to be on TV, and I’m happy every time we’re on national TV. I’m sure Boston doesn’t care. They’re on TNT every night. But I think that’s what’s fun for us, is people are going to watch our team more. Like Roy Hibbert said, people aren’t watching us play, so I think it’ll be cool for us to be on national television. It all comes with winning. I’m sure next year we’ll get a lot more national television coverage, just because of what we do on the field.”

Tyrese Haliburton and the entire Pacers community were therefore eagerly awaiting the release of the TV schedule for the 2024-2025 season to see how their media coverage on national TV would evolve after a great performance concluded in the conference final against the future NBA champion.

It seems that Tyrese Haliburton was heard since the Pacers will be broadcast nine times on national television in 2024-2025, five times on ESPN, four on TNT. This is the best score for the Indianapolis franchise since the 2018-2019 season (twelve games). If we add NBA TV, accessible to everyone, This figure even rises to 14.

A match in Paris to top it all off

Two games are scheduled for the first week of competition with a rematch of the conference semi-final on the Knicks' court on October 25, then the conference final on the occasion of the reception of the Celtics on October 30.

The NBA Cup group game against the Bucks, with whom Indiana has a nascent rivalry, will also be expected on November 22 on ESPN.

As a reminder, Rick Carlisle's men have also been in the spotlight on the international scene since they will face the Spurs in Paris on January 23 and 25 as part of the “NBA Paris Game”, and a match will be broadcast on ESPN and NBA TV. Here too, it will be a superb opportunity for the Pacers to occupy the center of the media scene, as will be the case on March 26 at home against the Lakers, a match also broadcast on ESPN.

For TNT, the four games are the reception of Cleveland on January 14, that of the Knicks on February 11, the Bucks on March 11 and again the Cavs on April 10. Then perhaps will come the playoffs, where it will be necessary to shine again to maintain in terms of broadcasting on national television…
