TV audience | A well-attended Western Conference final

Even though the Denver–Los Angeles series only lasted four games, they were all engaging and interesting, so viewers watched the Western Conference Finals diligently. The proof with the excellent audiences given by Sports Media Watch.

Game 4 was watched by an average of 8.21 million people on ESPN, peaking at 11.48 million at the end of the game. It’s the third most-watched conference finals game in five years.

With 7.9 million viewers on average, this series is also the most watched conference final since 2018, and the era of duels between Warriors and Rockets in the West, Cavaliers and Celtics in the East, which had brought together respectively 9.4 and 8.4 million people per meeting.

This is obviously much higher than last season’s audiences when the series between Warriors and Mavericks only attracted 6.7 million viewers per game. And even if it was a sweep, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic and the others are now the most watched series of the 2023 playoffs, ahead of the semi-final between the Lakers and the Warriors, which was nevertheless a box of hearings.
