TV audience | A real success for the “play-in” matches

While the 2021 Lakers-Warriors remains the most-watched play-in game in the short history of this event, Los Angeles’ new participation has been a hit again this year.

According to Sports MediaWatch, the victory of LeBron James and his gang against Minnesota was watched by an average of 3.47 million viewers. It is therefore the second best audience for a “play-in”, behind the 5.6 million for the 2021 match, and it is 29% more than the Clippers – Wolves for the 2021/2022 season.

The other game in the West, despite a less attractive poster on paper, New Orleans – Oklahoma City, went well with 2.86 million people watching. As for the Lakers, the poster did better (+ 17%) than last season, a Spurs – Pelicans.

On the side of the Eastern Conference, the Heat – Hawks recorded 2.25 million spectators, and it is a little less (- 9%) than the Cavaliers – Nets last year. Finally, the Raptors – Bulls made 2.18 million audience, but that does not include viewers in Canada, necessarily many.
