The rumor was right: the Nuggets were indeed interested in Bryn Forbes and the Spurs shooter arrives in Denver in a triangle exchange.
The Celtics thus invite themselves into the transaction since they send Juancho Hernangomez to San Antonio, and they recover two “long-term” injuries from the Nuggets, PJ Dozier and Bol Bol. In the transaction, the denver post reports that the Spurs also recover a second round of the Nuggets Draft (2028).
For Denver, this deal is a triple winner. First, it allows them to remove two players who will no longer play this season. Then they get that shooter they coveted. Finally, it allows them to free up a spot in the workforce and thus make room for DeMarcus Cousins.
Boston side, we recover two injured players and at the end of the contract, and we part with an element that brought nothing (1.1 point per game in 18 games) but the team is almost out of the “luxury tax”. It remains to be seen whether the Texan air will allow Juancho Hernangomez to regain the qualities that allowed him to break through to Wolves.
