Trey Murphy III out 10 to 12 weeks

The Pelicans medical staff finally made a decision regarding Trey Murphy, injured in the meniscus of his left knee during an injury sustained during training. All options were evaluated, but surgery seemed the most appropriate, even if it will cause a longer period of unavailability.

The Louisiana franchise announced that the winger suffered a partial meniscectomy and received an injection in his left knee. The procedure took place in New York at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS).

Trey Murphy III will now have to begin the recovery phase which will take him until his return to play, estimated within 10 to 12 weeks in the best case, i.e. during the second half of November.

A first hard blow for the player, who was coming off a big sophomore season, but also for the Pelicans, who have been unlucky for several years with injuries. At the start of the 2019/20 season, Zion Williamson, for example, suffered the same injury, which also forced him to undergo surgery.
