Trae Young thanks Stephen Curry for his support

This annoys some, who would prefer that superstars hate each other, but there are no real individual rivalries in the new generation. On the contrary, the greatest players enjoy playing together or sharing advice, rather than challenging each other. A new example with Stephen Curry who did not hesitate to pick up his phone when Trae Young found himself in the middle of transfer rumors.

“He doesn't always call me, but every now and then he calls me.”, explains the Hawks leader to Paul George's podcast. “I remember the first time my name came up in trade rumors was right before a play-in game. I think it was two years ago, and he texted me to stay focused and keep a cool head. He shares his experiences with me and gives me some advice from time to time as support. He’s always been a great help to me.”

A role model for many leaders

A year ago, after a Hawks victory over the Warriors, Young had already confided how Curry behaved like a “big brother” with him. “He's been like my big brother since I arrived in the NBA and even before,” Young had said. “He always gives me advice and I appreciate that. He's one of those players that paved the way for guys like me to come to the NBA and take over. So it's a privilege to have a guy like him giving me advice.”
