Trae Young back in training: the countdown is on

The timing is tight but the mission is far from impossible for Trae Youngoperated on the little finger of his left hand six weeks ago and whose return to training was made official on Monday by the Atlanta franchise. This is a complete return with permission for contact sessions.

The Hawks leader, who tore a ligament in his little finger on February 23, will now benefit from a week to get back on his feet and regain some feeling, even if he was able to maintain his physical condition normally during his convalescence. It will then be a question of challenging Chicago for a first “play-in” match on April 17.

For Atlanta, currently 10th in the East, there are four games left to play before the end of the regular season, with the sole objective of getting back ahead of Chicago in order to have the advantage of receiving in the first round of the play-in.

Since Trae Young's injury, the Hawks have resisted as best they can with 12 wins for 10 losses. The Georgia franchise, however, will not have been spared from injuries since alongside Trae Young, AJ Griffin (ankle), Saddiq Bey (knee), and Onyeka Okongwu (big toe) will still be missing this evening against Miami.
