Towards a three-way race for the position of coach in Toronto?

Are these the three finalists mentioned in Toronto almost two weeks ago? Maybe. In any case, Mark Stein announces that three names are now at the top of the list to become the new coach of the Raptors.

They are Sergio Scariolo (Spain, Virtus Bologna), Kenny Atkinson (Warriors assistant) and Darko Rajakovic (Grizzlies assistant).

Known names on the Toronto side since the first two have been in contact with the Canadian franchise for some time. The Italian had even confirmed discussions with the leaders of the Raptors.

The information to remember is therefore that Jordi Fernandez, whose name has been circulating, is apparently no longer a candidate to succeed Nick Nurse. Nor Steve Nash and JJ Redick for that matter. And that there is therefore a two out of three chance that it is a European who will sit on the bench of Toronto, the last team still looking for a “head coach”.
