Tony Parker: “One of my goals is to try to be an NBA owner one day”

SATURDAY, Tony Parker will become the first Frenchman to enter the Hall Of Fame. The jury of the Basketball Hall of Fame elected him in his first year of eligibility, proof that his place among the legends of this sport is logical and natural. At only 41 years old, Parker has one of the most extensive track records in French sport, and like Michel Platini or Alain Prost, he also intends to leave a mark as a manager, even as an owner. And why not one day in the NBA!

“It’s a dream, it’s clear” does he answer Andscape. “For now, I’m still focusing on my country because I still want to be of service. In September, a brand new room will open [pour l’ASVEL]. It will be like an NBA room. There are many things I still want to accomplish in France. But yes, in five or six years, it is one of my goals to try to be a landlord one day. »

Ditto for Shaquille O’Neal at the Kings, or currently Dwyane Wade at Jazz. However, none had the fortune of a Michael Jordan to own and put several billion dollars on the table.

“The amount is definitely too high” recognizes TP”. “The price is starting to get very, very high. But, I hope that one day there will be new owners. I know LeBron talks about it a lot, and I hope we see that in the near future. »
