Author of a great first season as an individual, Brandon Miller was logically selected in the best five rookies of the year. Rare good news for the Hornets who once again experienced a nightmare season, weighed down by injuries, at the bottom of the ranking (21 victories – 61 defeats).
After Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, Kendall Gill, Emeka Okafor and his teammate LaMelo Ball, he is the sixth Hornets player to join the best five of rookies. And the former Alabama player is preparing to continue his rise next season.
“I feel good, I’m already ready to go for another season now”says Brandon Miller in the Charlotte Observer. “My main goal for the summer is to continue to gain weight. I want to gain muscle mass to be ready for next season. I don't have a diet to follow! I eat everything because I have to gain weight. And behind that, I do a lot of weight training to be able to play the way I want. »
“I know I have to set a good example”
Still slender, even light, with his 92 kilos all wet, Brandon Miller knows that he must strengthen himself physically to last the duration of the marathon NBA seasons. Above all, he knows that he still has work to do to become a leader of his Charlotte team, which still has to rebuild everything!
“This first season allowed me to build my confidence and know what I can do on the pitch. I should be one of the young leaders of this new group that is being formed in the team. I live for these moments with my teammates, when we work together to progress. In any case, my teammates helped me a lot to gain confidence and become the young leader that I am and that I want to be for the team. I know I have to set a good example, both in training and in matches. »
In this case, Brandon Miller has already planned to train alongside Paul George, his idol. A new dream coming true for the young nugget of the Hornets who wants to join the elite of the League in the medium term.
“Playing and training with him is a golden opportunity. I will be able to play with my favorite player, work with him and progress. It's going to be great to learn alongside him. But, more than learning, we will mainly go for baskets and perfect my game while having fun. »
