TJ Warren hopes for another chance in the NBA

Having accompanied Kevin Durant from Brooklyn to Phoenix, TJ Warren was not retained by the Suns at the end of the last campaign. At 30, he is currently without a contract, waiting for a phone call…

“Every day I train, I stay sharp and I stay ready. I continue to do everything I can to prepare myself physically and mentally” he assures, asked by Hoopshype. “I think I can bring experience, a crazy work ethic, and be someone who gives my all at all levels. I can relate to the young guys and be a veteran. This will be my tenth season, so I’ve been here for a while. »

The winger assures that he can always contribute points coming off the bench, to help a title candidate for example.

“There are a lot of teams that may need a scorer off the bench. I watch the NBA every day and try to see if I can help competitive teams take a step forward by being present on both ends of the court. I pride myself on wanting to be a two-way player. I know a lot of people doubt my defensive abilities because I score so easily. But I’m proud of both ends of the court. There are definitely a lot of competitive teams that I can contribute to and make an impact on. »

The problem is that the leaders have on the contrary always doubted the defensive qualities of TJ Warren. And if his offensive qualities allowed him to compensate, his multiple injuries have weighed him down for three years.

“I am in perfect health. Foot injuries were part of my career for two years (four matches played in total in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons). I felt like I had peaked in the bubble. It was a great situation. Unfortunately, I was injured and that set me back. I want to go out there and prove myself like I always have throughout my career, being a little bit under the radar. I understand the concerns, because two years is a long time, especially when you don’t know the situation well, but I am completely healthy now and I look forward to having the opportunity to prove myself again. »

To the wise…
