Tim Connelly returns for one more season at Wolves

While the Wolves are shaken behind the scenes by billionaire problems, some good news came overnight: Tim Connelly will still be the president of the franchise next season. At the origin of the arrivals of Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley, and the contract extensions of Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels, the former leader of the Nuggets has decided to postpone his exit clause until the end of next season.

In other words, he is tied to the Wolves until 2026, with the possibility of terminating his contract in the summer of 2025. News that will bring stability to the conference finalists, while Connelly is one of the leaders the most sought after at the moment. Before hiring Trajan Langdon, the Pistons had made him their priority.

The card of stability or a new big move?

But The Athletic specifies Connelly and his family like it a lot in Minneapolis, and that the person concerned wants to complete his project with the Wolves, defeaters of the Nuggets, NBA champions, in the conference semi-finals. “We have just had two wonderful years, and I hope we can extend them for two more years” he explained during the end-of-season press conference.

While his future remained uncertain, he has already taken the lead for next season by extending Mike Conley, but we can expect him to make a big move during free agency. This is what can be translated from his recent remarks.

“Once you've tasted it, you always want more, and so we'll discuss it with the owners… It's also something that we're quite aware of, to a large extent: to be where we are, it involves a some verification. The owners gave us no indication other than to be aggressive and try to take everything to the next level. »
