With Tuomas Iisalo having taken over the management of Memphis, to become assistant to Taylor Jenkins, Paris Basketball now needed to choose a new coach. And according to BeBasketthe club has found the lucky winner: Tiago Splitter.
The 39-year-old Brazilian is set to become the new coach of the Betclic Elite finalist team, which also won the Leaders Cup and the Eurocup. This is another step in his recent coaching career.
After his playing days (first in Spain, then in the NBA where he was champion in 2014 with San Antonio), which ended in 2017, Tiago Splitter has been in charge of the benches for a few years now.
He was in charge of player development in Brooklyn for three years, before joining Houston in 2023 to assist Ime Udoka. In Texas, he notably worked with Alperen Sengun.
“He helps me a lot. I improved my left hand thanks to him, because we work together. He is someone who has experience, who has been a champion, who teaches me a lot of things about the mentality to have, about matches and about things to know outside of matches,” the Turk said last November.
