Théo Maledon finally returns to the Hornets

The lead of the Hornets could have a little “French” accent next season since alongside LaMelo “LaFrance” Ball from his full name, we could find two French players. Alongside Frank Ntilikina, hired for one year (but whose contract will not be guaranteed until October 24), Adrian Wojnarowski indicated that Theo Maledon was going to make his return to the North Carolina franchise, via a “two-way contract”.

The former Asvel player had already spent the last season with this type of contract, averaging 6.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists with the Hornets in the NBA, and 16.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5 assists on average with the Greensboro Swarm in the G-League. He is the third and final player signed by Charlotte via a two-way contract alongside Amari Bailey and Leaky Black.

Competition for Frank Ntilikina?

“Woj” also revealed that the Hornets had their back by putting your hand on Edmund Sumner, free agent after being released by the Nets at the start of the offseason. Returning last season after experiencing a blank year due to a ruptured Achilles tendon, the Detroit native, who presents himself as a versatile combo-guard, already aroused the interest of the Hornets two months ago.

His contract may also not be guaranteed until the start of the regular season, which would mean Charlotte will put him in competition with Frank Ntilikina in training camp, since the Hornets will not be able to accommodate both players for the season. next, with already 14 players under guaranteed contract.
