The Wolves will honor their “pre-Kevin Garnett” years

Like Magic, Wolves will celebrate their 35th anniversary this season by paying tribute to their teams from the 1990s. By revealing for the occasion a new jersey that they will wear 21 times (home and away), as well as a new floor on which they will play 10 times.

The dominant color of this “Classic” jersey is white, with hints of blue and green, three of the franchise’s flagship colors. All with a font reminding us of the visual identity of Minnesotaand in particular that of the uniforms of its teams from 1989-1996.

These were the very first seasons of the Wolves, not yet led by Kevin Garnett, but rather by Tony Campbell, Christian Laettner then Isaiah Rider. Before the young “KG” arrived in the league in 1995.

In terms of results, these are clearly not Minnesota’s best years (not the slightest qualification for the playoffs and no season exceeding 30 victories…), but it is a necessary period for the construction of this new team, which is therefore managed to recover Kevin Garnett in the 1995 Draft (5th choice). For the success we know (eight consecutive playoff qualifications and a conference final).
