The duel between the two Eastern Conference teams starts better for Detroit, boosted by the return to business of Cade Cunningham. Well helped by Bojan Bogdanovic, the Pistons even take a lead of up to 12 points (28-16).
Unfortunately for Monty Williams' men, Jordan Poole took advantage of their too many ball losses to revive the Wizards, and finally regain the advantage (33-36) after 12 minutes.
The match will then remain balanced until the fourth quarter. Without being particularly brilliant, Kyle Kuzma and company will take off against the Pistons who can no longer find their way to the circle at all.
The gap exceeds ten points and the Wizards are heading towards their eighth victory of the season (118-104), to end a series of six consecutive losses.
WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER
– First victory for Brian Keefe. The former assistant of Wes Unseld Jr. wins his first career victory as head coach. To savor, because it may be rare…
– Cade Cunningham back, his turnovers too. He is one of the players who loses the most balls this season, with 3.9 turnovers per game. For his return to the game after a few missed matches, Cade Cunningham demonstrated it again by compiling 20 points, 12 assists but also 7 turnovers. Bad transmissions which above all allowed the Wizards to play quickly, and to score easy points.
– Bilal Coulibaly widely used, not Killian Hayes. The Frenchman from the Wizards had the second most playing time on his team (31 minutes), behind Kyle Kuzma. He took the opportunity to display his activity (8 points on 2/7 shooting, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 interception and 1 block). Opposite, Killian Hayes paid for the return of Cade Cunningham, settling for 10 minutes on the floor, for 2 points on 1/2 shooting, 1 rebound and 2 blocks.
