The Wizards validate the 3rd year of Bilal Coulibaly’s contract

As always with young people who are already successful, it was only a formality, but Bilal Coulibaly learned Tuesday that the Wizards had validated the 3rd year of his rookie contract. After his Draft, in June 2023, the Frenchman signed a contract worth $30 million over four years, type 2+2. Here he is linked with his franchise at least until 2026, and he already knows that he will receive $7.3 million next season.

Starting alongside Jordan Poole, Coulibaly had a very good start to the season with 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists on average. After three matches, the Olympic silver medalist has already broken his records for points and assists, and equaled that for the number of 3-pointers in a match.

Decisive in his defense against the Hawks on Monday evening, he explained that his coach gave him more responsibilities in attack. “I proved to the coaches that I could go to the rim, take a shot off the dribble, and everything else. The coaches saw it, and now they believe in me” explained the Frenchman, who attempts eight “drives” on average this season. “Coach Keefe saw it, and he thought I could do it. He then gave me a lot more responsibility. »
