The Warriors regain their joy of playing to bring down the Clippers

Back-to-back after their convincing victory against Sacramento, the Clippers did not manage to continue and they even revived the Warriors on the verge of crisis. After wasting a big lead against the Kings in midweek, this time, Steve Kerr’s players led from start to finish. However, there was no shortage of absentees since Andrew Wiggins joined Gary Payton II and Chris Paul in the infirmary.

But we saw the Warriors very enthusiastic and especially enthusiastic like the replacements. It was Dario Saric, Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski who signed an 11-2 at the end of the first quarter to take the lead after twelve minutes (31-24). The trio combines well, like this shift in Saric’s corner for Kuminga, and they give the Warriors a 17-point lead (46-29). The Clippers are on the verge of breakdown, and it is Kawhi Leonard, still as effective with his “pull-up jumper”, who limits the damage (61-50).

Klay Thompson shows off the muscles

Returning from the locker room, we find the Warriors just as enthusiastic in the game. Draymond Green locks down the defense well, and Klay Thompson confirms that he is having a good night. Like this shot taken instinctively after an offensive rebound from Moses Moody, lying on the ground! The Chase Center loves it, and it is once again the bench which gives some air with Kuminga (78-66). But beware because Russell Westbrook breaks the first curtain, and finds his teammates, like Leonard (82-73).

Except that the Warriors replacements held out with Saric and Kuminga still finishing (89-77). Moment chosen by Thompson to put the lid on the match with 10 points in a row! Including this strong basket, with the foul, where we see him showing his muscles, “à la Draymond Green” (99-86). However, the Clippers will not give up and Paul George will put himself at the level of Kawhi Leonard to make the Warriors doubt. But it was again Thompson who sent Moody to dunk. This time, it ended well, and the Warriors won 120-114 to sign one of the most interesting victories of their season.

What you must remember

Andrew Wiggins and his car. No Andrew Wiggins in between, nor in the warm-up. The Canadian winger warned his coach during the day that he had gotten his hand stuck in his car door! It was Moses Moody who replaced him at short notice in the starting five.

Stephen Curry climbs. Author of 26 points, the All-Star leader became last night the 34th best scorer in NBA history with 22,213 career points, and he erases Clyde Drexler, the former flying back of the Blazers and Rockets, from the shelves . Next target: Elgin Baylor but there is almost a 1,000 point difference.

11-30-23. This November 30, 2023 was not an evening like any other, since the numbers of the date were made up of the numbers of the “Big Three” of the Warriors: Curry – Thompson – Green. It’s anecdotal but the Warriors had decided to make an event of it, and after the victory, we found the three, headphones on, to answer interviews near the scorer’s table.
