The Warriors and the Spurs on the trail of Lauri Markkanen?

Lauri Markkanen Will he still play in Utah next season? That's not certain, as the Finn enters the final year of his $18 million contract.

According to Brian Windhorst, from ESPNseveral teams have approached Danny Ainge, the Jazz's sports boss, in order to recover the All-Star and Most Improved Player 2023. In particular the Warriors and the Spurs, while there has also been talk of an interest from the Thunder for the former Bulls and Cavaliers player, now aged 27.

The big question, however, is whether the “Finnisher” is likely to leave Salt Lake City, where he was finally able to display all his offensive qualities, averaging 25.6 points and 8.6 rebounds in 2022/23.

According to Brian Windhorst, teams calling Utah have a strong feeling that Lauri Markkanen is a potential trader, for the right consideration. However, Danny Ainge can still be seen as a dealmaker without any real intent behind it.

But in San Antonio, the Victor Wembanyama – Lauri Markkanen association under the circle has something intriguing, especially with Chris Paul at the helm to put them into orbit…
