The University of Iowa will retire Caitlin Clark's jersey in a few weeks

Just named “Athlete of the Year” by TIME Magazine, Caitlin Clark will soon experience another honor since the University of Iowa announces that his #22 jersey will be retired on February 2, 2025!

It will be during a match against USC, which the rookie star of the Indiana Fever will obviously attend.

“Caitlin Clark has not only redefined excellence on the field, but she has also inspired countless young athletes to pursue their dreams with passion and determination”explain those responsible for the faculty’s sports program. “Her remarkable achievements have left an indelible mark on the University of Iowa and the world of women's basketball. The retirement of his number is a testament to his extraordinary contributions and a celebration of his legacy, which will continue to inspire future generations. Hawkeyes fans can’t wait to say thank you for so many incredible moments.”

It must be said that, even if she ultimately never won the university title, failing twice in the “March Madness” final, the list of Caitlin Clark's university exploits is very long.

We can remember that she became the best scorer in NCAA history, men and women combined!

“I am proud to be a Hawkeye, I always will be, and Iowa holds a special place in my heart that goes beyond basketball.”she explains ahead of the ceremony. “It means a lot to me to receive this honor and to celebrate it with my family, friends and alumni. It will be a great feeling to look up at the ceiling and see my jersey alongside those I have admired for so long.”
