Joel Embiid's winks in his direction, without effect? According to Shams CharaniaTrack Paul George is cooling down for the Sixers. Philadelphia's interest reportedly “ significantly decreased ” the last days.
According to the insider, the Sixers should be aggressive elsewhere, with their salary flexibility and capital at next week's Draft. We remind you that they have, for the moment, modest choices (16th and 41st pick).
The Clippers player has, however, been the team's plan A since his premature exit in the playoffs against the Knicks. With $65 million to throw around, 76ers president Daryl Morey has made no secret of his desire to add another elite player this offseason, alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
What other winger?
At the beginning of May, the leader even told journalists that he was looking for “ a winger who can make the difference in the playoffs », which reinforced the speculation around Paul George. But in his podcast, Paul George recently explained that players “talk among themselves” about opposing managers and his Clippers teammate, James Harden, probably didn't have many positive things to say about the Sixers GM…
If this avenue were no longer relevant, Philadelphia would therefore have to turn to the other options mentioned so far. To know Jimmy Butler, Brandon Ingram, OG Anunoby, Zach LaVine Or… LeBron James.
The Athletic notably reported that the Pelicans had just contacted the Philadelphia Sixers about a possible trade of Brandon Ingram, which the New Orleans team would not wish to extend.
