The Thunder takes revenge on the wolves

The start of the meeting is marked by the points of Chet Holmgren on one side and the energy of Jaylen Clark on the other. Except that the latter quickly takes two faults, which offers Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of space. He has fun and the Thunder begins to dominate. And many, with a 22-4 in five minutes. The Wolves are in the strings (23-35). Calvary continues in the second quarter. Anthony Edwards and his teammates fall on a wall, and not a shot comes in. The gap is widening.

Then, a reaction starts. In six minutes, Minnesota spends a 22-2! The end of the first half comes alive with the 3-PTS basket, from the midfielder, to the buzzer of Jalen Williams (63-61). The Wolves are finally in the meeting, Anthony Edwards also enters, with award -winning baskets. Unfortunately, the Wolves lose Jaylen Clark, after a fall and a blow on the head. And as in the first period, the Thunder benefits by passing an 11-2 (96-103).

If not you, it is your cousin: it is not “SGA” which dominates the start of the last act but indeed Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who scored 11 points in four minutes. This is not enough because opposite the Army of the Thunder strikes hard: Alex Caruso continues three award-winning baskets, then Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Holmgren pushed the nail. The Thunder spends an 18-2.

In the last seconds, the Wolves are still six points behind and, twice, with Edwards and Naz Reid, they have a bullet to return to three points. It is missed each time and Oklahoma City wins (123-130), taking revenge after the defeat conceded just before the All-Star Game.

What to remember

-The Thunder strikes 3-PTS at the best of moments. By shooting at 7/11 to 3-PTS in the last quarter, the leaders of the Western Conference have perfectly negotiated this last turn, the most important. This 18-2 hurt Wolves, once again broken down solutions in the “money time”.

– Jaylen Clark missed Minnesota. What a cruel scenario for the rookie. With his defense energy on the best marker in the league, plus his four interceptions, he was very good. Maybe even more in attack with 14 points at 6/7 in the shoot. But after an ugly fall, with a head that strikes the ground, he was forced to leave his teammates in the third quarter, without coming back. And it was also a blow for his team because, in 18 minutes with him on the prosecution, he displayed a +/- of +20!

-Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won his duel against Anthony Edwards. Minnesota's back did a lot of things, but it was sometimes rough and clumsiness was significant (8/21 at the shoot, 4/13 to 3-PTS). Above all, he did not make the difference at the end of the meeting. For his part, “SGA” made his match with 37 points at 54% success in the shoot, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 interceptions and 3 counters.
