The Thunder is wasting no time and is already extending Alex Caruso!

Everywhere he went (Lakers, Bulls), Alex Caruso quickly knew how to make himself indispensable and this was not lacking either in Thunder. Proof of this is, ESPN announces that he has accepted an extension offer of $81 million over four years, even though he was eligible for an extension… since Saturday.

Having become a key element in the rotation of Mark Daigneault, who already coached him in the G-League when he was trying to find a place in the NBA in the mid-2010s, the 30-year-old “combo guard” accumulates 5.7 points, 2.9 rebounds , 2.4 assists and 1.9 interceptions on average over the season, in around twenty minutes off the bench.

Retained in an “All-Defensive Team” in 2023 then in 2024, the ultra-combative Alex Caruso is now linked to Oklahoma City until 2029. At the same time, he is doubling his salary, which until then had never exceeded the mark of 10 million dollars per year.

Crowned NBA champion with the Lakers in 2020, before joining the Bulls in the summer of 2021, the “Bald Mamba” arrived in OKC last June, in exchange for Josh Giddey. Associated with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort, Cason Wallace, Aaron Wiggins, Ajay Mitchell and Isaiah Joe on the Thunder's back lines, he is part of this “army of the 12 thieves” which makes him the leader of the Western Conference (22 -5) the best defense in the league.
