The Sixers still hope to change James Harden’s mind

Will stay, will not stay… After two months of standoff, with insults and sulks, James Harden resumed training this Wednesday with the Sixers. Perhaps the payment of his salary played a role in this decision. Even though he says he will no longer play for a team where Daryl Morey is manager, the former MVP has been practicing normally, and according to ESPNhe was warmly welcomed by his teammates.

Since Monday, Pat Beverley, Tyrese Maxey and even PJ Tucker have continued to multiply kind messages towards him, even if his absence disrupts the group. On the management side, optimism is back, and ESPN assures that internally, we remain hopeful that everything will return to normal. It’s a message already mentioned at the beginning of the summer, but Harden’s “liar” had put an end to all hope.

On Morey’s side, we explained on Monday that Harden “ continues to want to be traded and we continue to work with his agent to find the best solution for the 76ers and all parties.” But except for the Clippers, who Hardne wants to join, no franchise seems interested in Harden. ESPN also reports that discussions still produce nothing with the Sixers.

As Harden is in his last year of contract, and he is on his third transfer request in three years, we imagine that no GM wants to take the risk of recruiting him.
