A few days before the resumption, the franchises sign and cut players in stride. The goal ? Hold their G-League rights. That’s what the Rockets did, for example, with Willie Cauley-Stein, and that’s what the Sixers have just done with Sekou Doumbouya.
According to Philadelphia Inquirerthe Frenchman was therefore signed during the day on Saturday and then cut, and he will therefore be linked to the Delaware Blue Coats in the G-league.
Now 21, Doumbouya failed to justify this 15th place in the 2019 Draft with an average passage to the Pistons at 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds on average in 94 games. Then transferred to the Nets, he immediately took the direction of Houston before being cut. Last year, he tried to regain his place in the NBA with “two-way contracts”, we only saw him twice with the Lakers jersey.
On the Philly side, there is still a place to be taken in the workforce (14 guaranteed contracts + 2 two-way contracts, and the leaders have chosen to wait before signing a last player.
