Houston has also taken out the checkbook to recover the 29-year-old player since Fred VanVleet leaves Toronto in exchange for a contract of 130 million dollars over the next three seasons. This is the first maximum contract of this “free agency” 2023, Kyrie Irving, Draymond Green and company having signed for less than the max.
Fred VanVleet will thus receive 40.8 million dollars next year, in 2023/24, then 42.8 million dollars in 2024/25 and finally 44.9 million dollars in 2025/26.
