Not necessarily at best lately, the Riders were tested in Florida, against a team from Heat Always amputated by Jimmy Butler of course, but catchy to the point of worrying anyone. However, this was not what happened because, without Darius Garland (rest), the teammates of Donovan Mitchell (34 points, 6 assists), Evan Mobley (22 points, 15 rebounds) and Ty Jerome (20 points, 7 assists) quietly negotiated this trip to Miami.
Even without their master to play or 3-point address, the riders attack strongly by insisting successfully in painting to punish the Heat players, who accumulate failures and blunders with the ball. The gap therefore quickly rises to ten points and it is not the second quarter that will change the situation.
Worse: this gets worse for the Floridians, who continue to be struggling in attack but who are rolled on it by the Cavs collective, led by a brilliant Donovan Mitchell at the head of all these beautiful people (59-41 ).
After the break, a hot stroke of Haywood Highsmith seems to restore hope to Miami, but the Tandem Evan Mobley – Jarrett Allen takes care of calming the ardor of the locals. L
'Gap is stabilized, also thanks to the slaughter of Donovan Mitchell and the bench of Kenny Atkinson, but Tyler Herro and others find outdoor address and the hovers. Shaken but not overthrown, Cleveland then recovered from “Spida” Mitchell and Ty Jerome to repel, near the circle, the Floridian assaults, led in particular by Terry Rozier. The victory is in pocket and it does not suffer from any dispute (126-106).
What to remember
– Cleveland reigned in painting. The horsemen did not give any chance to the Heat in this part and, to do this, they did not fail to support tirelessly inside. The duo Bam Adebayo – Kel'el Ware, however recently attractive, could not do anything against the typing power coming straight from Ohio. In addition to Evan Mobley, dominator in the rebound, Donovan Mitchell and Ty Jerome were also able to walk too easily in the Floridian racket and, on arrival, the Cavs planted there … 68 of their 126 points. Fortunately they weren't so adjoining 3-point (13/42) at the same time …
– Miami without solution. Never ahead of the whole evening score, the Heat has struggled to exist on the offensive level, outside this third quarter where it will have planted 43 points (against 41 on all the first half …). Taken by throat in painting, the men of Erik Spoelstra were unable to answer on the other side, aligning ball losses and failed with 3-point a good part of the meeting. The type of evening without par excellence and it will now be necessary to recover outside, with four trips to come. This “road trip”, in the middle of “Trade Deadline”, should also see Jimmy Butler making his suitcases …
