Jordan Brand surprised everyone by presenting a second version of the Zion 3. Called “Zion 3 MUD” for (Made Uniquely Different), it was accompanied by a Velcro covering the laces, to optimize the support of the midfoot.
The experience will be repeated on this next Zion 3 “MUD” which is about to be released this time in a Low version. The “Ash” colorway is not exuberant, with an all-black upper and an all-white sole.
The Jordan MUD Ash is announced for August 7th on the official Nike US website, at a price of $150.
Our verdict on the Zion 3
>Jordan Brand continues to fumble around for Zion Williamson's signature collection with three very different models each time, and contrary to what one might think, the third is not necessarily the most successful.
The Zion 3 may do better in terms of design and support, but it still doesn't have all the technical features to be at the top of the range, particularly in terms of cushioning and traction.
After going all out on the Zion 1, which the player wore very little in the end, Jordan Brand may have revised its ambitions downwards, which resulted in slightly less qualitative Zion 2 and 3, while the Pelicans player showed himself more on the NBA courts. Zion Williamson's 2023/24 season, which is probably his most successful campaign of his career, with a nice 5th place in the West occupied by New Orleans, will surely give Jordan Brand more guarantees for the future.
It remains to be seen whether the Jumpman brand will start from scratch again for the Zion 4, or whether it will keep the strengths of the Zion 3, and this time add the necessary extras to stand up to the best sneakers in the “Game”.
