Two weeks after facing each other in Canada during an evening full of emotions, the Pacers and the Raptors met this time in Indianapolis and, unlike two weeks ago, it was the Canadian franchise which won in a very good way (130-122).
As usual, Scottie Barnes (21 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists, 5 blocks) showed the way for Torontowhile RJ Barrett (24 points), Immanuel Quickley (19 points), Gradey Dick (18 points) and Jakob Poeltl (15 points, 10 rebounds) were not left out. Enough to counter the performance of Bennedict Mathurin (34 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists) and Pascal Siakam (27 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists) against a team so dear to them.
This now makes three successes in a row for the Raptors, who have not said goodbye to the play-in in the East, while Indiana sees its streak of three consecutive victories come to an end.
TO REMEMBER
– Scottie Barnes leads the charge for Toronto. Dominant in the paint (78 points) and sharp on the counter-attack (26 points), which inevitably carried them to victory, the Raptors were also able to count on a full match from their All-Star, Scottie Barnes. In the oven and in the mill, in attack and in defense, he notched his fourth triple-double of the season and assumed his status as the new boss of Darko Rajakovic's troop. Receiving, as a bonus, the support of his lieutenants RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Gradey Dick and even Jakob Poeltl, so as not to blacken the statistics sheet in the void.
– Tyrese Haliburton misses out. While the Raptors' All-Star performed well, it's impossible to say the same about the Pacers' All-Star, since Tyrese Haliburton finished with only 9 points and 7 assists in 32 minutes, with an ugly 2/11 shooting (including 1/ 6 at 3-points). This certainly allowed Bennedict Mathurin and Pascal Siakam to take command of the Indianapolis ship, but the leader's subpar contribution handicapped Rick Carlisle's attack. Reaction expected in two days, and no longer “back-to-back”, for the leader of Indy.
