The Pelicans trust Trey Murphy and Dyson Daniels

Good news for Trey Murphystill recovering from his meniscus injury. The Pelicans announced the activation of an option on the fourth year of his contract, as well as on the third year of that of Dyson Daniels. Both players are therefore linked to NOLA until 2025.

The first, who will receive 5 million dollars over this contract year, is very logically rewarded for his rise in power last season. Having become a starter, the winger increased his points average to 14.5 units, notably with a peak of 41 points.

With the full-time returns of Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson, Trey Murphy could come off the bench for the Pelicans this season. He is expected to miss the first month of competition.

The second, drafted higher (8th choice in 2022), had a discreet rookie season statistically, but managed to find his place within Willie Green’s rotation (around 4 points in 18 minutes).

I felt like I was a little inconsistent, I think there were things I could have done better, but it was good to know what I need for the second season and what that I need to improve », Posted the 20-year-old Australian, at the end of his first NBA campaign, who will receive 6 million dollars thanks to this activated option.
