The Pacers sink the Cavaliers

Nice evening for Indianawho surfed on an insolent 3-point address to succeed in getting rid of a valiant team of Cleveland.

After a balanced first half, during which the Garland-LeVert-Mitchell trio took over the Haliburton-Hield-Mathurin-Turner quartet (64-68), the two teams continued to go blow for blow (76 -75).

Buddy Hield It was nice to chain three baskets to 3-pointers, Cleveland remained in the race and even went back to the front. the floater of Darius Garlandthe 3-point step-back of Donovan Mitchell and the basket snatched by Jarrett Allen then allowed the Cavs to conclude a 9-0 (76-82).

Tyrese Haliburton raised his tone by passing 11 points including two 3-point missiles and by multiplying the caviars for his teammates, but Donovan Mitchell and isaac okoro dunk answered him (96-96).

The last 3-point basket from downtown Tyrese Haliburton to conclude the third act promised a breathtaking last quarter (99-96). He was, with Aaron Nesmith in the role of factor X of this end of match.

The Cavs came back strong, finishing their run at 18-3 between the two quarters after the 3-pointer of Kevin Love and Jarrett Allen’s basket (99-106). The Pacers then waited for the best moment to resurface, with two 3-point baskets from Myles Turner and Buddy Hield, two brilliant inspirations from Aaron Nesmith and a 2 + 1 from Tyrese Haliburton against Darius Garland (125-119) .

The outcome remained uncertain heading into the final minute of the match, when Evan Mobley crushed everything in its path to bring his own to -3 (127-124). With great composure, Aaron Nesmith again distinguished himself by going to snatch a basket near the circle, then by chaining a defensive rebound and two free throws to kill the suspense (131-124). The Pacers finally won 135-126 after a tough battle.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

The Pacers’ outdoor address. Difficult to compete when the opposing team flirts with the 20 3-point baskets registered at a crazy address, 61.3% of success in this case (19/31). At times when Cleveland could have consolidated a more substantial advantage, Indiana used this weapon to the end to hold on and finally pass.

The expulsion of Rick Carlisle. The Pacers technician got carried away after Isaac Okoro’s dunk served by Donovan Mitchell at the end of the third quarter. Rick Carlisle thus accused Donovan Mitchell a little too demonstratively of having committed a dribble recovery. Sanctioned for two technical faults, he was thus invited to join the locker room. His team then managed to recover from the 18-3 inflicted by Cleveland to clinch the victory. A successful electroshock effect?

MATCH ACTION

If we put aside Aaron Nesmith’s dunk poster which will surely have its place in the Top 10 of the night, we can note this unusual moment, when Buddy Hield scored one of the fastest baskets in history. The Pacers sniper received the ball following the jump ball and immediately unsheathed to find the string. Hot from the start!

TOPS/FLOPS

Buddy Hield. On the heels of his 6/7 behind the arc against Atlanta, the Bahamian blazed again by starting the game at 5/5 from 3-pointers! With always this shooting mechanics and this trajectory close to perfection. He also writes an important one in the last act.

Tyrese Haliburton. Winner of his duel against Darius Garland with 29 points and 9 assists, the leader went through some extraordinary hot shots where he made the right choices.

Aaron Nesmith. A reference match for the winger, his best of the season in a victory for the Pacers. Precious in the last quarter with 8 points scored on his 22 in total.

✅⛔️ Donovan Mitchell. Author of 41 points during the first confrontation between the two teams, the rear was clearly targeted. “Spida” got away with a lot of strokes of genius to finish with 28 points but his address suffered (10/25). He notably missed five of his six attempts in the game in the fourth quarter.

✅⛔️ Darius Garland. Same thing for the Cleveland point guard. Very good things, and a generally clean match, but non-existent in a “money-time” where he distinguished himself by missing two free throws.
