The Pacers remain evasive on TJ McConnell

Backing Tyrese Haliburton to the Pacers, TJ McConnell is one of the best backup point guards in the NBA. The former Sixer will never be a star but at 31 years old, he is coming off his best career season averaging 8.7 points and 5.3 assists with good percentages; 57% on shots, including 44% on 3-pointers. Enough to catch the eye of the Suns who would like to make him this experienced leader who is lacking in their squad.

It’s possible since the Pacers could offer more playing time to Andrew Nembhard as Haliburton’s backup. Listening to GM Chad Buchanan, the ball is in McConnell’s court.

“TJ is another player who deserves to play. He will be in competition » explains this manager. “TJ had to fight for everything in his life. We don’t know yet what that’s going to look like, but I think he wants to be a Pacer. He’s happy to be a Pacer. He wants to be here and we need to know where it’s going to take us. »

A priori, McConnell wants to stay in Indiana, but that doesn’t say whether his leaders absolutely want him to stay.
